How we choose to enable ourselves to improve our emotional intelligence and build the confidence to express ourselves is important, books and articles can be part of the first step to improving our mindset.

  1. Books and articles have the power to kick start us into action depending on what we are reading and where we are at in our lives.

  2. Inspiring stories and firsthand accounts can really help us to know we are not the only ones and give hope that life can be better when we are willing to take action to change our mindset.

  3. Reading has an impressive impact on our brains and in turn our abilities. It can help us to learn new words and communicate better. More specifically as we get older it aids memory which slows down the onset of dementia.

Here are some top tips I shared on Tuesday that you can try :



⭐️ Make Reading Time

If you are saying you don't have time to read then make a list of all the things that you do for recreation. The average UK adult spends 4-5 hours per night watching TV. Make the time. Do you really need to watch 4- 5 hours? cutting it down to 1 - 2 hours would give you so much more time to focus on improving your development.

⭐️ Reading Challenges

Plan to read a certain book with a friend or colleague and schedule a call to discuss being at a certain point by the time you catch up. It will make it more fun

⭐️ Ditch and Switch

If the book you had all hopes for is not giving you what you need then it's time to 'ditch and switch'. We wouldn't force ourselves to go somewhere we don't like or watch something we weren't engaged in so if we force ourselves to read something we don't enjoy then we are going to fall out of love with reading before we begin.
